Coming from a small city and state like Huntsville, AL, the music scene is very rare. Finding an artist that’s true to what they rap about and never forgetting where they came from come a dime a dozen. On the other hand Rayed R has the light shining bright on his city and has given it hope! Meet Rayed R (formally known as Ray Rizzle) , born Raymond Russell Jr, an American hip-hop recording artist and CEO of Deeper Than Rhymes that has something to say. With his lyrical content and storytelling rhymes, you are for sure to get an up north sound with a southern flow. Ray first stepped on to the music seen back in 2005 where he and 4 other people formed a group called B.$.E (Bama Starz Entertainment). The group went on to put out album after album until 2014 when they all agreed on the decision to go independent. Since then Ray took matters into his own hands with the music industry and has not looked back.
In the winter of 2014, Ray announced that he was putting together his first solo project since the split entitled “In Due Time” the EP, which had been scheduled to drop February 24th 2015. During the process of his release Ray had been in the studio repeatedly working on tracks to drop in anticipation. On September 10th 2014, Ray dropped a freestyle called ‘Coming Soon” off the classic Mos Def instrumental “Sunshine” produced by Kanye West. This freestyle came with a strong flow from Rayed R expressing his background and letting his audience know that the EP is on the way. After this track started surfing the web, Ray turned around and dropped his first single off the EP titled “One Day”. It was safe to say that this track was Rayed R’s break out record and had his fans anticipating the project even more. Ray then went on to drop a visual to this track on Vevo which premiered February 17th 2015, that gained the likes of thousands of fans and even went international.

Major blogs such as ‘Allhiphop.com, Dirtyglovebastards.com just to name a few, paid their respects to the EP by reposting it to their blogs with a short bio about it. Since this release, Ray has traveled back and forth to states and cities performing his project and even doing radio interviews. His most proud accomplishment came back in March where he got invited to the F.I.T (Fashion Institute of Technology) to talk about his project on the radio station ‘The Trap” in Manhattan, NY. “This was like a dream come true, seeing your hard work not going unnoticed and doing a radio interview in New York, that’s unheard of from an artist where I’m from” says Ray. His accomplishments didn’t stop there. He went on to do numerous shows around his city and another interview in Tennessee with “Dream Technicians.” He also got invited back to New York to perform at Hip Hop Seazon’s showcase in Queens, NY.
As 2016 hit, Rayed R was on track to release his Sophomore project tilted "TRQ6ix" (The Real Quarter 6ix). This project dropped on June 28th of 2016 on Livemixtapes and Spinrilla. With this release, Rayed R was able to put together his own tour where he traveled to numerous cities such as Tennessee, Florida, New York for performances and interviews. Ray has gained a lot of buzz around the globe just from traveling off his project and is making his presents felt tremendously. He is currently working on his third project which will release later this year. No title yet, but word is that this one will be more like an album. Also he is building his Deeper Than Rhymes brand and making tremendous moves with his DTR clothing line. Even had the legendary Bun B wear a DTR shirt at one of his shows. One thing that Ray has learned from all of this success is that patience and hard work ethic are major factors.
